Agriculture In The Classroom
Agriculture in the Classroom is a grassroots program coordinated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Its goal is to help students gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture in the economy and society, so that they may become citizens who support wise agricultural policies. The program is carried out in each state, according to state needs and interests, by individuals representing farm organizations, agribusiness, education and government. The USDA supports the state organizations by: helping to develop Agriculture in the Classroom programs acting as a central clearinghouse for materials and information encouraging USDA agencies to assist in the state programs, and coordinating with national organizations to promote the goal of an increased awareness of agriculture among the nation's students.

Good Shepherd Lamb & Dog Coats, Huntingtown , 20639
Good Shepherd Lamb and Dog Coats were designed by a shepherd for shepherds and adapted for dogs after many requests. Good Shepherd Lamb & Dog Coats are natural wool coats specially designed to help maintain the core body temperature of newborn, sick or frail lambs, goats, and crias and to keep cold doggies warm. They have been sized for dogs and are especially useful for keeping dogs warm and cozy in cold weather. Old, sick or frail dogs or those suffering from arthritis or joint pain will appreciate the warmth and softness provided by natural wool Good Shepherd Lamb Coats. Short haired dogs or dogs that just like it hotter than our houses usually are in winter will love the warmth and comfort of wool. Wool stretches and conforms to the body and never chaffs or binds. Good Shepherd Lamb & Dog Coats are extremely durable and easily cleaned. They can be washed and dried in the home laundry. Good Shepherd Lamb and Dog coats are reusable and help protect the planet.

Maryland Industrial & Private Consultant Foresters
Lists maintained by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. One of the objectives of the forestry profession is to assist landowners in making informed decisions about the management of their forests before implementing harvesting activities. With the help of professional forest managers, the goals and objectives of landowners can be blended between the environmental and economic values each woodland is capable of producing. To that end, and to be able to assist as many landowners seeking professional forestry services as possible, state service foresters will refer to private consulting and industrial foresters those aspects of forest resource management that can support themselves without public assistance.

Maryland Small Farm Cooperative
The Coop was formed in October 1996 for the purpose of offering smaller farm producers in the surrounding counties ways in which to pool their energies and interests. The mission is to increase marketing leverage, increase purchasing leverage, improve production practices and seek additional training opportunities. The coop presently consists of over 220 members representing farm production that ranges from dairy products to beef product to vegetables and small livestock. The programs undertaken are in response to member interest. There is presently no hired staff. As programs demonstrate an ability to be self-sustaining and in need of paid staff the coop board of directors are prepared to support those needs. The coop is currently seeking grants to assist in the initiation of several new programs The Coop Membership is open to farm producers with interests in opportunities to improve their viability as niche or commodity producers.

Sheep and Goat Marketing Program, Keedysville , MD
The Sheep and Goat Marketing Program is intended to build capacity to supply the growing consumer demand for high quality sheep and goat meat. It was originally called The "Northeast" Sheep and Goat Marketing Program and had this goal in mind for the Northeastern states. Due to it's success and the importance of the goal, we are now expanding the program geographically. The program had developed from a grant received by Cornell University from the USDA to improve sheep and goat marketing infrastructure in the Northeast. Funds for the grant were made available to the industry as a result of the successful petition by the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) et al to slow the flow of imported sheep products into the United States. Funds from the resulting short term tariff imposition on imported sheep meats are being recycled into the industry to improve its competitive position.
