Ranger Foundation (The) , Keedysville , MD

The Ranger Foundation is a non-profit retirement home for horses that have given years of service to people. The horses come from a variety of working backgrounds. They are police horses, military horses, and therapeutic riding horses among others who are now too old to continue to perform their jobs and deserve our loving care for the remainder of their days. Volunteers, like these home schoolers and their mothers, help to groom and care for Ranger Horses. The horses love the attention and enjoy a little light exercise. Like many people, some of these guys prefer a reminder of their former working lives. Others are ready for a lazy life in the pasture.
