This University of Maryland Extension initiative was launched in 2009 to teach Marylanders how to start and maintain vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens. Master Gardener volunteers across the state are teaching classes and workshops in an effort to increase the number and productivity of Maryland food gardens. The Home and Garden Information Center is supporting the campaign by fielding the public's food gardening questions.
